Vinnaithandi varuvaya review: Simple, feel good movie

Vinnaithandi varuvaaya is just another Gautham menon film you just like to watch. No matter what the story is, what the climax is...the film gives a beautiful watching experience when you are in movie hall.

About story? I dont thing we can find anything novel in a love story, romance, and chemistry between a girl and boy. Just the same first meeting, falling in love, expressing and suppressing the love.....all those things we have seen in many films in all languages like aniyathipravu, alaipayuthe etc.

Here also same happens. Situations and back ground only differs. But sure, we will fall in this love. The charm, the background music, the presentation etc makes this a completely enjoyable film.

Chimbu is here as Karthik, an aspirant film director,who has completed his engineering and trying a chance to find an opening into film world. One fine day he finds an angel coming towards his gate and falls in love with her on first sight. That was his house owner's (Babu antony) daughter Jessie, who is staying in the upper floor of his house. He realises that she is an year older to him, a christian girl, malayalee etc which would cause problems if he loves her. But is firm in his love and after some days effort, he tells his love to her. He was not lucky enough to get a positive reply then and follows to Alapuzha (her native place in Kerala). There during their Kerala trip, something works out..Is it love or friendship? Can karthik convince Jessie?? That s what Gautham Menon tries to tell in his own way through
rest of the film....

Chimbu....he should be the first person we should discuss about...Amazing change! Actually i have not seen his early movies in full..(have seenjust songs, clippings only and that too were irritating...) And now , he has become an actor and has delivered a controlled and matured performance.
Trisha was also equally good. She was perfect for that role. Both of them had a good on screen chemisty too.
I dont think Babu Antony was fit for the role given to him in the film, any way he was OK. Special appearance scenes by Naga Chaithanya,
Samantha and KS ravikumar were also good. (I personally feels that Naga is not fit for the hero character in the telugu version of this film)

The way Gautham menon handled the story was beautiful. Till interval, he was trying to show the development of the love story. (Which was an usual
track, still he was able keep viewers engaged). Kerala sequences were good. But the second half lacks the same momentum or smoothness which the first half had. As usual, we can find lot of english dialogues in the film.

There are two fight scenes in the film, which is totally different from usual Chimbu movie.
Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa was marvelous. Kerala looks more beautiful his frames.
I dont think it is necessary to tell about AR Rahman's music and background score. Truely superb.!
Song picturisation was marvelous.

Totally, VTV is a lovely experience to watch. I am quoting the heroine's words in the climax to describe this work--"it is a simple , feel good movie", eventhough I have different opinion about the climax twist.

MNI KHAN REVIEW: decent work from karan

My name is Khan is the story of Riswan Khan(shah rukh khan), who is an intelligent dump suffering with asperger's syndrome. After the death of his mother (serena wahab), he reaches USA, where his brother (jimmy shergill) resides.
Riswan assists his brother in selling cosmetic products there. He meets Mandira (kajol) in a beauty parlour and become friends. Finally he fall in love with and she too agrees to marry him. (Mandira is a mother of 13 year old boy Sam and her husband left her long ago).

Terrorist attack on 9/11 turns their life upside down. All the three becomes victims in differnt ways and Riswan leaves home to meet American President and tries to convey something....

Treatment:
Director Karan johar has handled the theme in a matured manner. The basic aim of the film is to onvey the message that 'all muslims are not terrorists'.
Second half of the film is little bit slow in some parts. Hurricane scenes, Khan rising to fame sequence etc could have handled better.
Karan concentrates just on the changes in Khan family and that was not at all sufficient to describe the hardships muslims faced post 9/11.
In my view Newyork by Kabir khan was more touching in describing this part.

Acting wise,
Shah rukh khan was good as Riswan and his mannerisms an aspergis syndrome patient was nice.
Kajol looks beautiful as Mandira and also she did her part well.

Songs by Shankar Ehsaan Loy team also were good. Cinematography by Ravi K chandran was top notch.

Anyway My name is Khan is good attempt and Karan, Shahrukh, kajol etc deserves appreciation.

യുഗപുരുഷന്‍: ഗുരുവിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കൊരു കണ്ണാടി

ആര്‍ സുകുമാരന്റെ സ്വപ്ന പദ്ധതിയായ യുഗപുരുഷന്‍ ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരുവെന്ന നവോഥാന നായകന്‍റെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കൊരു എത്തി നോട്ടമാണ്. കടിച്ചാല്‍ പൊട്ടാത്ത ചരിത്ര വിശദീകരണങ്ങള്‍ ഇല്ല, അതുപോലെ തന്നെ മുഴുനീള എന്റര്‍റെയ്നെര്‍ ആയി വിലയിരുതാനുമാകില്ല. എങ്കിലും തീയറ്റരുകളില്‍ എത്തുന്ന സാധാരണ പ്രേക്ഷകന് ഒരിക്കലും ബോറടി ഈ സിനിമ നല്‍കില്ല. ഒപ്പം കേട്ടറിഞ്ഞ ഗുരു ചരിതത്തിന്റെ ചെറിയ ഒരു ഓര്‍മപെടുത്തലും.

നാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റെ യുവത്വം മുതലുള്ള കഥയാണ്‌ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ വിവരിക്കുന്നത്. തന്റെ മുന്നില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ദുരാചാരങ്ങല്‍ക്കെതിരെ ശാന്തമായി എന്നാല്‍ ശക്തവും യുക്തവും ആയി പോരാടുന്ന നിരവധി സംഭവങ്ങള്‍ ഗുരുവിന്റെ ജീവിതം പറയുമ്പോള്‍ സ്ക്രീനില്‍ എത്തുന്നു. ഈഴവ ശിവനെ ആരാധനക്കായി സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതും വൈകം സത്യാഗ്രഹത്തിന് പിന്തുണ കൊടുക്കുന്നതും താഴ്ന്ന ജാതിക്കാര്‍ക്കായി വിദ്യാലയങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതും ഒക്കെ ഇവയില്‍ ചിലത് മാത്രം.
ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ കഥ പറച്ചില്‍ ഒരുപാട് ആഴത്തില്‍ ഒന്നുമല്ല. ചെറിയ സംഭവങ്ങളിലൂടെ ആണ് കഥ നീങ്ങുന്നത്‌. എന്നാല്‍ ആഖ്യാന ശൈലി അധികം വേഗത തോന്നിക്കുന്ന മട്ടിലുമല്ല. ഇതൊരു പോരായ്മ ആയി ചിലര്‍ക്കെങ്കിലും അനുഭവപെടാമെങ്കിലും ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ യോഗീവര്യന്‍ ആയ ഒരു കഥാ നായകനെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ത്രസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന രംഗങ്ങള്‍ വേണം എന്ന് വാശി പിടിക്കാനാകില്ലല്ലോ. എന്നിരുന്നാലും ഇടക്കൊക്കെ കെ സി കുട്ടന്‍, അയ്യങ്കാളി തുടങ്ങിയ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഈ ഒരു കുറവും ഒരു പരിധി വരെ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നു.

അഭിനയം:
തലൈവാസല്‍ വിജയ്‌- ഗുരുവായി വേഷത്തിലും ഭാവത്തിലും ഇദ്ദേഹം ജീവിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വയസ്സായി ഉള്ള ഗെറ്റ് അപ്പില്‍ നാരായണ ഗുരു തന്നെ. ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം. തലൈവാസലിന്റെ തമിഴിലും പരസ്യങ്ങളിലും ഒക്കെ നമ്മള്‍ പണ്ട് കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള അഭിനയം അല്ല ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍. കഥാപാത്രതിനനുസരിച്ചു ഏറെ മാറാന്‍ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിനു കഴിഞ്ഞു.
മമ്മൂട്ടി- ഏറെ നേരമൊന്നും സ്ക്രീനില്‍ മമ്മൂട്ടി അവതരിപ്പിച്ച കെ സി കുട്ടന്‍ എന്നാ കഥാപാത്രം വരുന്നില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാം വ്യക്തമായി ആ ഊര്‍ജവും സാന്നിധ്യവും അറിയിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നുണ്ട്. പുരോഗമന വാദിയായ കുട്ടന്‍ എന്ന കഥാപാത്രം മംമൂട്ട്യുടെ കൈയില്‍ ഭദ്രം.
സിദ്ധിക്ക്- പതിവ് പോലെ കിട്ടിയ വേഷം സിദ്ധിക്ക് മികച്ചതാക്കി. എന്നാല്‍ സ്ഥിരം അഭിനയ ശൈലിയില്‍ നിന്നൊരു മാറ്റം ഒന്നും തോന്നിയില്ല.
നവ്യ നായര്‍- കോരനെ സ്നേഹിച്ച സാവിത്രിയെന്ന സവര്‍ണ പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയായും അവളുടെ മകള്‍ ശാരദ ആയും ഇരട്ട വേഷം ആണ് നവ്യക്ക്. രണ്ടും അമിതാഭിനയം ഇല്ലാതെ മികച്ചതാക്കി.
ബാബു ആന്റണി- അയ്യന്‍‌കാളി ആയാണ് ബാബു ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍. കുറുവടി കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു സംഘട്ടന രംഗവും അയ്യങ്കാളിക്ക്‌ ഉണ്ട്.
കലാഭവന്‍ മണി- കോരന്‍ എന്ന പുലയന്റെ യൌവനവും വാര്‍ദ്ധക്യവും മണി മനോഹരം ആക്കി.
സഹോദരന്‍ അയ്യപ്പന്‍ ആയി ജിഷ്ണുവും ദേവനും എത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. അവരും മോശമല്ലാത്ത പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ച വെച്ച്. ഗാന്ധിജി, ടാഗോര്‍, കുമാരനാശാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത നടന്മാരും അവരുടെ വേഷം നന്നായി കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു. ഇടയ്ക്കു ജഗതി, കല്പന, സലിംകുമാര്‍, അരുണ്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരും വിവിധ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ ആയി സ്ക്രീനില്‍ എത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.
ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു ഗാനങ്ങളും ഹൃദ്യമാണ്‌. രണ്ടിലും യേശുദാസിന്റെ ശബ്ദമാണ്. പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതം കൂടുതല്‍ നന്നാക്കാമായിരുന്നു. രാമചന്ദ്ര ബാബുവിന്റെ ക്യാമറയും സന്ദര്‍ഭങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ ഇണങ്ങുന്നതായി.
വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സില്‍ താലോലിച്ചു സംവിധായകന്‍ ഒരുക്കിയ തിരക്കഥയില്‍ അല്പം കൂടുതല്‍ ശ്രദ്ധ ച്ലുതിയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ചിത്രം കൂടുതല്‍ മനോഹരവും ആകര്‍ഷകവും ആക്കാമായിരുന്നു. കഥയുടെ അന്ത്യത്തില്‍ ഗുരുവിന്റെ സമാധി രംഗം കൂടി ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളിക്കാം ആയിരുന്നു.
മൊത്തത്തില്‍ യുഗപുരുഷന്‍ പ്രേക്ഷകനെ വെറുപ്പിക്കാത്ത ഒരു ലളിതമായ, എന്നാല്‍ ഇന്നും ഏറെ പ്രസക്തമായ ഗുരു ദര്‍ശനങ്ങള്‍ ഓര്മപെടുത്തുന്ന സിനിമയാണ്. ഈ സിനിമയെ അതിന്റെതായ രീതിയില്‍ കാണുക, അതല്ലാതെ അടുത്ത കാലത്ത് വന്ന മറ്റു ചരിത്ര സിനിമകളുമായി താരതമ്യ പെടുത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചാല്‍ നിരാശയായിരിക്കും ബാക്കി.

ബോഡി ഗാര്‍ഡ്: ശരാശരി എന്റര്‍ റെയ്‌നര്‍

ദിലീപിനെ നായകനാക്കി സിദ്ദിക്ക് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ബോഡി ഗാര്‍ഡ് ശരാശരിക്കു മുകളില്‍ നിലവാരം ഉള്ള എന്റര്‍റെയ്‌നര്‍ ആണ്. സിദ്ദിക്കില്‍ നിന്നോ ദിലീപില്‍ നിന്നോ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന തരത്തില്‍ ഒരു മുഴുനീള ഹാസ്യ ചിത്രമല്ല ഇതെന്നതാണ് ആദ്യാവസാനം പൊട്ടിച്ചിരി പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചെത്തുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ഒരു പരിധി വരെ നിരാശരാക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു റൊമാന്റിക് കോമഡി ഒരുക്കാനാണ് സിദ്ധിക്ക് ശ്രമിച്ചത്, എന്നാല്‍ ആ ഉദ്യമത്തില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം പൂര്‍ണമായി വിജയിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല എന്നതാണ് പ്രധാന പോരായ്മ.

കഥാസാരം:
ചെറുപ്പം മുതലേ ഭയം എന്തെന്നറിയാത്ത ബാലന്‍ ആണ് ജയകൃഷ്ണന്‍. കരുത്തിലൂടെ എന്തും നേടാം എന്നാ വിശ്വാസത്തില്‍ ഒരു ബോഡി ഗാര്‍ഡ് ആയി മാറുക അവന്‍ തന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി. വളര്‍ന്നപ്പോഴും (ദിലീപ്) ഈ യുവാവിന്റെ മനസ്സില്‍ ഇതായിരുന്നു ലക്ഷ്യം. അങ്ങനെ ആണ് അവന്‍ മുന്‍കാല ചട്ടംബിയും ഇപ്പോള്‍ പുന്നയൂര്കാവില്‍ എല്ലാരും ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നവനും ആയ അശോകേട്ടന്റെ (ത്യാഗരാജന്‍) വീട്ടില്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ബോഡി ഗാര്‍ഡ് ആകാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു എത്തുന്ന അയാള്‍ക്ക് ഒരവസരത്തില്‍ അശോകെട്ടനെയും കുടുംബത്തെയും ഒരു ആക്രമണത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അശോകന്റെ മകള്‍ അമ്മു (നയന്‍ താര) വിന്റെ ജീവന്‍ സംരക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ അയാള്‍ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. കോളേജില്‍ അമ്മുവിന്റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തിനായി അവള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം പഠിക്കാനും ചേരുന്നു. പിന്നെടങ്ങോട്ടുള്ള രസകരവും പ്രണയാര്‍ദ്രവും പിരിമുറുക്കം നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ സംഭവങ്ങളിലൂടെ കഥ വികസിക്കുന്നു...

അഭിനയം:
ദിലീപ്: നായകനെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന രംഗം ബോര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു..തുടര്‍ന്നുള്ള ബാറിലെ ഫൈറ്റും. പിന്നീട് കോളേജിലെ ചില നമ്പരുകളില്‍ ദിലീപ് നന്നായി. പൊതുവേ ദിലീപിന്റെ കോമഡി ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ കാണുന്ന മെയ് വഴക്കം ഇതില്‍ കണ്ടില്ല. എങ്കിലും മോശമാക്കിയില്ല.
നയന്‍താര: കാണാന്‍ നന്നായിരുന്നു. അഭിനയത്തില്‍ പുരോഗതി ഇല്ല. നായികക്ക് നല്ല പ്രാധാന്യം ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ട്.
ത്യാഗരാജന്‍: നല്ല ഗെറ്റ് അപ്പ് ആയിരുന്നു. സംഭാഷണം/ ഡബ്ബിംഗ് എന്നിവയില്‍ എന്തോ അപാകത തോന്നുന്നു. ഇത് കൂടുതല്‍ മെച്ചപെടുതാമായിരുന്നു.
പക്രു: ആദ്യം കാണിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ഏറ്റവും അധികം കയ്യടി കിട്ടിയത് പക്രുവിനാണ്. ഇടയ്ക്കിടയ്ക്ക് വരുമ്പോള്‍ ചില നല്ല വിറ്റുകള്‍ ഉണ്ട്.
മിത്ര: കൂടെ നടന്നാല്‍ മതി. അധികം അഭിനയിക്കാന്‍ ഇല്ല. അത് കൊണ്ട് ആ വേഷം ഭംഗിയാക്കി.
ബാക്കി അഭിനേതാക്കള്‍ കുഴപ്പമില്ല.

തിരക്കഥ, സംവിധാനം:
വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം മലയാളത്തില്‍ പടം ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്റെ ഒരു ചെറിയ കൈ വിറയല്‍ സിദ്ദിക്കിന് ഉള്ളതായി തോന്നി. ഫുള്‍ കോമഡി സിനിമകളില്‍ നിന്ന് മാറി പ്രണയത്തിനും മറ്റും പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ തിരക്കഥയില്‍ പലയിടത്തും കൈ അയഞ്ഞു പോയി. ഇടവേളയ്ക്കു ശേഷം ചില രംഗങ്ങള്‍ നീണ്ടു പോയതായി തോന്നി. പിന്നെ ക്ലൈ മാക്‌സിലെ ചില വൈകാരിക രംഗങ്ങളും. ക്ലൈമാക്‌സിലെ ചില രംഗങ്ങള്‍ ക്ലീഷേ ആയും തോന്നും. ഒന്ന് രണ്ടു ട്വിസ്റ്റുകള്‍ ഉള്ളത് ഇടവേളയ്ക്കു ശേഷം ബോര്‍ ആക്കാതെ രക്ഷപെടുത്തി. എങ്കിലും മൊത്തത്തില്‍ ഉള്ള പേര് വല്ല്യ തോതില്‍ കളയാതെ സിദ്ധിക്ക് പിടിച്ചു നിന്നതായി തോന്നി.

ഗാനങ്ങള്‍:
രണ്ടു പാട്ടുകള്‍ കൊള്ളാം. അവ സിനിമയില്‍ വന്നതും അനുയോജ്യമായ സ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ തന്നെ..ബാകി ഉള്ളവ ഏച്ചു കെട്ടിയ ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ ആയി.

അഭിപ്രായം:
ശരാശരി ചിത്രം എന്ന നിലക്ക് മോശമല്ലാതെ കണ്ടിരിക്കാം, എന്നാല്‍ സിദ്ധിക്കിന്റെ മുന്‍കാല ചിത്രങ്ങളെ പോലെ മുഴുനീള ഹാസ്യം പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചാല്‍ നിരാശരാകും.

തീയറ്റര്‍ അനുഭവം:
യുവാക്കള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ആയിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും കൂവല്‍ ഒരു രംഗത്തിനും കിട്ടിയില്ല എന്നത് നല്ല അടയാളം ആയി തോന്നി.

മാര്‍ക്ക്:
അഞ്ചില്‍ രണ്ടേമുക്കാല്‍ നല്‍കാം.

ഇവര്‍ വിവാഹിതരായാലിന്റെ വിജയത്തിനുശേഷം സജി സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍-കൃഷ്ണ പൂജപ്പുര ടീം ഒരുക്കിയ 'ഹാപ്പി ഹസ്ബന്റ്‌സ്' ഒരു സ്‌ലാപ്‌സ്ടിക്ക് കോമഡി എന്റര്‍ടെയ്‌നറാണ്. കാര്യമായ കഴമ്പും പുതുമയും ലോജിക്കുമൊന്നുമില്ലെങ്കിലും മൂന്നുമണിക്കൂറോളം തീയറ്ററില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകന് വാച്ചില്‍ നോക്കി 'എപ്പോള്‍ തീരും ഇത്' എന്ന് ചിന്തിക്കാന്‍ അവസരം കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്ലസ് പോയിന്റ്.
ഭാര്യമാരുടെ മുന്നില്‍ സ്വന്തം തരികിടകള്‍ ഒളിപ്പിക്കാനും തട്ടിപ്പുകള്‍ പൊളിയുമെന്ന ഘട്ടങ്ങളില്‍ ഉരുണ്ട്കളിച്ച് സ്വയം രക്ഷപ്പെടാനും ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന മൂന്നു ഭര്‍ത്താക്കന്‍മാരുടെ കഥയാണീ ചിത്രം.

കഥാസാരം:
കേരളാടുഡേ മാഗസിന്‍ എം.ഡിയായ മുകുന്ദന്‍ മേനോന്‍ (ജയറാം), അതേ സ്ഥാപനത്തിലെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫര്‍ ജോണ്‍ (ജയസൂര്യ), ഇവരുടെ കുടുംബസുഹൃത്തെന്ന് പറയാവുന്ന രാഹുല്‍ (ഇന്ദ്രജിത്ത്) എന്നിവരാണ് കഥയിലെ മുഖ്യ പുരുഷ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍. നാടന്‍ പെണ്ണും ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ എപ്പോഴും സംശയിക്കുന്നവളുമായ കൃഷ്‌ണേന്ദു (ഭാവന), സെറീന (വന്ദന), ശ്രേയ (സംവൃത) എന്നിവരാണ് യഥാക്രമം ഇവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാര്‍.
താന്‍ മറ്റു പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളെപ്പറ്റി ചിന്തിച്ചിട്ടുപോലുമില്ലെങ്കിലും എപ്പോഴും ഭാര്യയുടെ സംശയത്തിനും പരിഭവത്തിനും പാത്രമാകേണ്ടിവരുന്നതിന്റെ വിഷമത്തിലാണ് മുകുന്ദന്‍. എന്നാല്‍ രാഹുലാകട്ടെ, കിട്ടുന്ന അവസരത്തിലൊക്കെ മറ്റുള്ള പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നടക്കാന്‍ സമയം കണ്ട്ത്താറുണ്ടങ്കിലും സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയുടെ മുന്നില്‍ ക്ലീന്‍ ഇമേജ് കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ മിടുക്കനുമാണ്്. മുകുന്ദനെ സംശയിക്കുന്ന ഭാര്യ കൃഷ്‌ണേന്ദുവിനാകട്ടെ കൂട്ടുകാരി ശ്രേയയുടെ ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ നല്ല മതിപ്പും വിശ്വാസവുമാണ്. രാഹുലിനൊപ്പം കൂട്ടുകൂടി തന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവും 'നന്നാകണ'മെന്നാണ് അവളുടെ ആഗ്രഹം.
ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ രാഹുലിനൊപ്പം പോകുന്ന മുകുന്ദന്‍ ബാര്‍ ഡാന്‍സര്‍ ഡയാന (റീമ)യെ പരിചയപ്പെടുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഈ പരിചയം മുകുന്ദനെ കുടുക്കിലാക്കുന്നു. പിന്നീടങ്ങോട്ട് ഭാര്യ അറിയാതെ ഇത് പരിഹരിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമവും ഇതുവഴി രാഹുലിലും ജോണിനും ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന പൊല്ലാപ്പുകളുമാണങ്ങോട്ട്. ഇത് പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ മൂവരും ചേര്‍ന്ന് നടത്തുന്ന തരികിടകളാണ് പിന്നീട് കഥ നയിക്കുന്നത്.

സംവിധാനം, തിരക്കഥ:
ഇവര്‍ വിവാഹിതരായാല്‍ എന്ന ആദ്യ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ പലയിടത്തും കണ്ട കുത്തഴിഞ്ഞ അവസ്ഥ രാണ്ടമത്തെ ചിത്രമായ 'ഹാപ്പി ഹസ്ബന്റ്‌സി'ല്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കാന്‍ സജി സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടു്. കാര്യമായ രംഗങ്ങളൊന്നുമല്ലെങ്കിലും ഒഴിവാക്കായിരുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നിക്കുന്ന രംഗങ്ങള്‍ ഇതില്‍ കുറവാണ്. (എന്നാല്‍ ഇവര്‍ വിവാഹിതരായാലില്‍ അത്തരം രംഗങ്ങള്‍ പലതുമു്). സെന്‍സ്‌ലെസ് സ്‌ലാപ്‌സ്റ്റിക് തരികിടകളാണ് ആദ്യവസാനമുള്ളതില്‍ പലതുമെന്നതിനാല്‍ അവ ബോറടി കാര്യമായി തോന്നിക്കാതെ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ സംവിധായകന്‍ ഒപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
തിരക്കഥയിലും കൃഷ്ണ പൂജപ്പുര ആദ്യ ചിത്രത്തിനേക്കാള്‍ കൈയടക്കം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ പുതുമയായി എന്തെങ്കിലും അവതരിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമമൊന്നുമില്ല.
(ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ കഥയും രംഗങ്ങളും തമിഴിലും ഹിന്ദിയിലും മുമ്പ് വന്നിട്ടുള്ളതിനാല്‍ കാര്യമായ അധ്വാനം സംവിധായകനും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തിനും വേണ്ടിവന്നിട്ടില്ല, എങ്കിലും മലയാള പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ ഈ കഥ പറിച്ചുനട്ടപ്പോള്‍ കാര്യമായി വികൃതമാക്കില്ലെന്നത് ആശ്വാസകരമാണ്).

അഭിനയം:
യുവാക്കളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ താരതമേന്യ മുതിര്‍ന്ന ആളാണെങ്കിലും ജയറാം തന്റെ വേഷത്തോട് നീതി പുലര്‍ത്തി. ഒരു രംഗത്തും മോശം പറയാനില്ലായിരുന്നു.ക്ലാസ്‌മേറ്റ്‌സിലേതു പോലെ തന്നെ ഇന്ദ്രജിത്ത് തന്റെ വേഷം രസകരമാക്കിയിട്ടു്. ജയസൂര്യയ്ക്ക് മറ്റു ചിത്രങ്ങളിലേതുപോലെ ഒരുപാടൊന്നും ചെയ്യാനില്ലെങ്കിലും ഉള്ളവേഷം ഭംഗിയാക്കി. നായിക കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഭാവനയുടെ ചില സെന്റി, കോമഡി രംഗങ്ങളൊന്നും അത്ര നന്നായിട്ടില്ല. സംവൃത, വന്ദന എന്നിവര്‍ കുഴപ്പമില്ല.
സുരാജ് വെഞ്ഞാറമൂടിന് തന്റെ സ്ഥിരം സ്‌റൈല്‍ വേഷമാണെങ്കിലും പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ ചിരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. സുരാജിന്റെ വളിപ്പുകള്‍ നിരവധിയുള്ളത് ഈ ഗണത്തിലെ ചിത്രത്തിന് പ്ലസ് ആണ്. വളിപ്പുകളാണെങ്കിലും അവസരത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് ചിലതൊക്കെ ക്ലിക്കാകുന്നുണ്ട്. രാജുവിന്റെ പഴകുറ്റി പവിത്രന്‍ എന്ന ഞരമ്പുരോഗി കഥാപാത്രവും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടും.

ഗാനങ്ങള്‍:
ശരാശരിയില്‍ താഴെ നിലവാരമേ എം.ജയചന്ദ്രന്റെ സംഗീതത്തിനുള്ളൂ. വരികളും കാര്യമുള്ളതല്ല. എങ്കിലും കഥാസന്ദര്‍ഭത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് ഇവ തീരെ വെറുപ്പിക്കില്ല.

മറ്റു വിഭാഗങ്ങള്‍:
അനില്‍നായരുടെ ക്യാമറ കളര്‍ഫുള്‍ ആണ്. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ജോളി മൂഡിന് ചേരുന്നു്ണ്ട. എഡിറ്റിംഗും മോശമല്ല, രുമണിക്കൂര്‍ അമ്പത് മിനിറ്റില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ഉള്ള ചിത്രമാണെങ്കിലും ഇഴച്ചില്‍ തോന്നില്ലെന്നതാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ എറ്റവും വലിയ മേന്മ.

അഭിപ്രായം:
രാണ്ട്തൊന്നു ചിന്തിക്കാന്‍ തയ്യാറല്ലാതെ വെറുതേ തീയറ്ററില്‍ ചെന്ന് ഇടക്കിടെ ചില തമാശകള്‍ (പഴയതാണെങ്കിലും) കേട്ട് ചിരിക്കാന്‍ മനസ്സുെങ്കില്‍ ആസ്വദിക്കാവുന്ന ചിത്രം.

Renigunda, directed by newcomer R Pannerselvam is all about black realities of society. Eventhough the film speaks about the life of five guys who had escaped from jail, it eventually mirrors the attitude of society. The film has too much of violence and fear, but without that the film wont make any marks in viewers mind.

Sakthi, 19 year old guy from a local middle class family, is a student. His father and mother wants him to become an engineer, but he is bad in studies. His happy life turns upside down when a local goon kills his parents brutally. Sakthi's first revenge attempt fails and he lands in jail.

There he had to face many brutal punishments form gaurds and four young jail mates comes to his help. He becomes freindly with them, who are of his same age and escapes from the jail.

Eventhough Sakthi has no intention to join the criminal gang of those four guys, he liked their company. These five men on their way to Mumbai to find new oppurtunities as goons, reaches Renigunda in Andhra and settles there. There, Sakthi meets an young girl (who is dumb) and fall in love with her.

During that time these five guys gets a qoutation to kill a contractor and this incident changes their life completely...

Johny as Sakthi have delivered an outstanding, life like performance. His four mates too did well. Sanusha was nice in her dumb role.
Director PanneerSelvam, who handled the sections story, screen play and direction have given a good and promising output. Eventhough these type of stories have been told several times, Renigunda is totally enjoyable, convincing and touching.

The film contains overdose of violence, but the story and situation demands that.There are some songs too in this film which are watchable.

Overall, Renigunda is all about the system and society, which won't let anyone to escape from his black past.

Raj kumar hirani's latest film "3 idiots" is one of the films which basically try to point out the flaws in education system through the relation between three college mates.
As in his earlier films, director has succeeded in presenting his ideas in most interesting manner and the film is a complete entertainer with a message!

The film begins when Farhan qureshi (Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (sharman joshi) starts a journey to find their best friend Rancho (Aamir khan), whom they never met after their engineering college days.
On their way towards Manali to find Rancho, Farhan remembers their good old days at campus, which changed their lives completely...

Eventhough the story is loosely based on chetan Bhagat's 'five point someone', the director had made sure that there is something novel and fresh in his script and presentation. 3 idiots is just not a film which tells about the relationship of three friends, but something about the society, class difference and defects in our present educational system.

Eventhough we have seen many campus scenes in diferent films, surely the scenes in this film will make you think and laugh. That is the magic of Hirani's presentation skill! Hirani has left no moment unused and we can identify many scenes which can be rated as marvelous. But, delivery episode was somewhat over.

Actingwise, Aamir, and Boman irani has done their best for their roles as dean and different student. I Cant think about any other man in Aamir's place, who would have done this role this much better. Sarman Joshi was perfect as Raju and Madhavan was OK. Dont know why they have selected Kareena as Pia , who has been welcomed by loud boos in the hall.

Songs used were below average. Cinematography by Muraleedharan was excellent while picturising Manali.

All together, 3 idiots is a must watch film, which will definitely keep you entertained in the hall and give something to think about.

മണ്ണിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജൈവ കർഷകന്റെ ജീവിതം ആണ് ഇവിടം സ്വർഗമാണ് പറയുന്നത്. റോഷൻ ആൻഡ്രൂസ് –ജെയിംസ് ആൽബർട്ട്- മോഹൻലാൽ കൂട്ട് കെട്ട് എന്തായാലും പ്രേക്ഷകരെ നിരാശപെടുത്തില്ല എന്ന് ഉറപ്പ്.
പടം പതിഞ്ഞ താളത്തിലാണ് നീങ്ങുന്നതെന്നതു ചിലർക്കെൻകിലും പോരായ്മയായി തോന്നാം. എന്നാൽ ഈ കഥ പറയാൻ അത് അനുയോജ്യം ആയതിനാൽ ബോർ അടിക്കില്ലെന്നതു ഭാഗ്യം.
മാത്യൂസിനു മനോഹരമായ ഒരു ഫാം ഉണ്ട്. ജൈവ ക്രിഷിയും പശുക്കളും ഒക്കെയായി അയാളുടെ കൊച്ചു സ്വർഗം. വീട്ടിൽ പിതാവ് ജർമിയാസ് (തിലകൻ), മാതാവ് (പൊന്നമ്മ) തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി പേരുമുണ്ട്.
തന്റെ ജീവനായി പോറ്റുന്ന ഫാമിനു വിലപറയാൻ ഭൂ മാഫിയ എത്തുന്നതോടെയാണു ആ സ്വർഗത്തിൽ അസ്വസ്തതകൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. ആലുവാ ചാണ്ടി എന്ന റിയൽ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് വമ്പൻ പൊന്നും വില നൽകാമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും മാത്യൂസ് ഭൂമി വിട്ട് നൽകുന്നില്ല. ചുറ്റുമുള്ള മറ്റ് വസ്തുക്കൾ ചാണ്ടി നേരത്തെ വാങ്ങി കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. ആ മേഖലയിൽ ഒരു township പണിയുകയാണു ലക്ഷ്യമെന്നു നാട്ടുകാരെ പറഞ്ഞു പറ്റിക്കാൻ ചാണ്ടിക്കു കഴിയുന്നു. അതോടെ നാട്ടുകാരും മാത്യൂസിനും കുടുംബതിനും എതിരാകുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ജെർമിയാസിനെ കള്ളകേസിൽ കുടുക്കാനും ചാണ്ടിയുടെ സ്വാധീനത്തിനു കഴിയുന്നു. പിതാവിനു അപകടം ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് മനസിലാകുന്നതോടെ മാത്യൂസ് ഭൂമിയേയും പിതാവിനെയും സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ പോരാട്ടം തുടങ്ങുന്നു…!!
ലളിതമായ ആഖ്യാന ശൈലിയാണു ചിത്രത്തിന്റെത്. റോഷന്റെ സം‍വിധാനവും മോശമല്ല. എന്നാൽ ചില രംഗങ്ങളെൻകിലും കൂടുതൽ മെച്ചമാക്കാമായിരുന്നു.
ആദ്യ പകുതിയിൽ ആണു അല്പം വേഗക്കുറവ് അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്നത്. ക്ലൈമാക്സിനോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ വേഗം തോന്നാൻ അല്പം ‘തരികിട’കൾ മാത്യൂസ് കാട്ടിക്കൂട്ടുന്നത് സിനിമയുടെ മൊത്തത്തിലുള്ള താളത്തിനെ ബാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
മോഹൻലാലിൽ നിന്നു ലാളിത്യം ഉള്ള ഒരു നായകനെ കിട്ടിയതാണു ഈ ചിത്രതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വല്ല്യ മേന്മ. മാത്യൂസ് ഒരു തവണ മാത്രമെ ക്രോധാകുലനാകുന്നുള്ളൂ.. അതാകട്ടെ, പിതാവിനെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയും.
നായിക ലക്ഷ്മി റായി കഥയിൽ നിർണായകമാണെൻകിലും അഭിനയ പ്രാധാന്യം ഒന്നുമില്ല. പ്രിയങ്കയുടെ റ്റി വി റിപോർട്ടർ നല്ല റോൾ ആണ്.
തിലകൻ ആദ്യമൊക്കെ സജീവമാണെൻകിലും പകുതിക്കു ശേഷം വല്ല്യ പ്രാധാന്യമില്ല.
ഇടവേളക്കു ശേഷം എത്തുന്ന ശ്രീനിവാസന്റെ കോശി നന്നായി.!! ജഗതി, ശൻകർ, ലാലു അലക്സ് എന്നിവരും മോശമാക്കിയില്ല.
ആദ്യ പകുതി BGM പതിഞ്ഞ താളത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നെൻകിലും ഇടവേളക്കു ശേഷം സജീവമാകുന്നുണ്ട്. ആവശ്യമില്ലാതെ ഗാനങ്ങൾ ചേർക്കാത്തത് നന്നായി.

അഭിപ്രായം:
കോലാഹലങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ മണ്ണിനും പ്രക്രുതിക്കും വേണ്ടി ജീവിതം സമർപ്പിച്ച ഒരു കർഷകൻ മാഫിയകൾക്കും അധിനിവേശത്തിനും എതിരായി നടത്തുന്ന ഒറ്റയാൾ പോരാട്ടം.
മണ്ണിന്റെ മണമുള്ള എന്ന വാക്ക് ഞാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നില്ല…ക്ല്ലീഷെ ആയിപോകും…എന്നാലും ഏതാണ്ട് അതു പോലെയൊക്കെ ഉള്ള ഒരു ലളിതമായ ചിത്രം.!

ചട്ടമ്പിനാട്: ചുമ്മാ കണ്ട് ചിരിക്കാം

മമ്മൂട്ടി ഷാഫി ടീം വീണ്ടും ഒന്നിക്കുന്ന ചട്ടമ്പിനാട് ഒരു കോമഡി ആക്ഷൻ എന്റെർറ്റെയ്നർ ആണ്. രാജമാണിക്യം, അണ്ണൻ തമ്പി സിനിമകളുടെ നിരയിലേക്കു തന്നെയാണു ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെയും വരവ്. മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ കന്നഡ ചുവയുള്ള മലയാളം ഡയലോഗുകൾ ആണു ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധാകേന്ദ്രം.

പണ്ട് കാട്ടമ്പള്ളി കുറുപ്പും സുഹ്രുത്ത് ഉണ്ണിത്താനും കൂടി ചെമ്പട്ട്നാട് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചിട്ടി കമ്പനി നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. ഇടക്കു ഇവർ തമ്മിൽ തെറ്റി. ശത്രുക്കളായി, പിന്നെ പരസ്പരം പോരാടാൻ ചട്ടമ്പികളെ നാട്ടിലിറക്കി..അതിൽ കുറെപേർ അവിടെ കൂടി…അങ്ങനെയാണു ചെമ്പട്ടുനാട് ചട്ടമ്പിനാടാകുന്നത്. അവരുടെ അടുത്ത തലമുറയാണിപ്പോൾ, എന്നലും ആ കുടുമ്പങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ ഉള്ള പോരാട്ടം ഇന്നും തുടരുന്നു. കുറുപ്പിന്റെ മകൻ നാഗ്ഗേന്ദ്രൻ (സിദ്ദിക്ക്). ഉണ്ണിത്താന്റെ മകൻ ചന്ദ്ര മോഹനൻ (മനോജ്)…ഇവർ തമ്മിൽ ഉള്ള പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ ചന്ദ്രമോഹനന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്ന് ആ നാട്ടിൽ എത്തുകയാണ് കർണാടകയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള തോട്ടം ഉടമയും തെമ്മാടിയുമായ വീരേന്ദ്ര മല്ലയ്യ (മമ്മൂട്ടി)… ചന്ദ്രമോഹനെ സഹായിക്കുക മാത്രമായിരുന്നില്ല മല്ലയ്യയുയുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം…അയാൾക്കു വെറെ ചില കണക്കുകൾ കൂടി ആ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ തീർക്കാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു…!!!

രാജമാണിക്യവും അണ്ണൻതമ്പിയും ഷാഫിയുടേയും ബെന്നി പി നായരംബലത്തിന്റെയും മുന്നിൽ ഈ ചിത്രം ഒരുക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു കാണുമ്പോൾ വ്യക്തം.! ആ രണ്ട് ഹിറ്റ് ചിത്രങ്ങളിലെ ചേരുവകൾ ആണ് ഇതിലും അവർ ആവർത്തിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
മമ്മൂട്ടി അനായാസമായി കന്നഡ ചുവയുള്ള സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് ചിത്രതിന്റെ ഹൈലയിറ്റായി.
ലക്ഷ്മി റായിയുടെ ഗൌരി എന്ന നായികക്ക് കാര്യമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനില്ല. സിദ്ദിക്കിന്റെ സ്ഥിരം വില്ലൻ റോൾ ആണ്. സുരാജ്, സലീം കുമാർ തുടങ്ങിയവർ ആണ് തമാശക്കായി രംഗത്തുള്ളത്. ചില തമാശകൾ ചിരിയുണർത്തും.
ഗാനങ്ങൾ ശരാശരി നിലവാരം പുലർത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.
മൊത്തത്തിൽ കണ്ട് രസിച്ച് പോരാവുന്ന പുതുമകൾ ഒന്നും അവകാശപെടാനില്ലാത്ത ഒരു എന്റെർറ്റൈനർ.

Vettaikaran: A typical Vijay masala.!!

Babu sivan's debut movie as director 'Vettaikaran' with Ilaya Dalapathy Vijay in lead is a typical Vijay masala. The film has nothing new to offer, but it wont let you bored. Vijay fans can rejoice, because he is back with bang to his usual style and the film is far better than Villu and Kuruvi.

Ravi aka Police Ravi (Vijay) from Tuticorn is an IPS aspirant and a great fan of encounter specialist Devaraj (Sreehari). This time Ravi passes his plus two exams in fourth attempt and moves to chennai to join degree. He follows the same way of Devaraj and takes a part time job of auto driver to make means for his studies.

In Chennai he meets heroine Suseela(Anushka) and fall in love with her. During his life in the city, he was forced to face baddies like Chella, police officer Kattabomman (sayaji shinde) etc. Kattabomman traps him in a case and Ravi escapes an encounter attempt. After that he comes to know about the present condition of Devaraj IPS and join hands with him to fight against Chella and his father/big boss Vedanayakam. The hunt begins here...

We can relate this story to many other tamil masala entertainers but Vijay show will make you watch this film one time.
Eventhough there is no notable punch dialogue, some were good.
Babu sivan has somehow managed to make this a watchable flick with some comedy, fight and song sequences which we expect from a Vijay movie. But he was innovative enough to present it with variety. The film lacks a commentable twist, which would have made it more interesting.

Music by Vijay Antony was OK. 'Naan adichaa' song was good, but picturisation is not colourful. Also, Sanjay(Vijay's son) made a noticable special appearance in this song. Other songs like 'Chinnathamarai' and 'karigaalan' were not bad. These songs are really "colourful" with Anushka's presence!

Actingwise, Vijay has nothing new to present, only typical Vijay performance which we had seen in Pokkiri, Kuruvi etc.

Anushka has nothing to do in the story development, but she is present in the film with glamourous performance in song sequences.

Other actors like Sreehari, Sayaji Shinde, Haneefa, Sukumari etc did there parts well.

Totally, Vettaikaran is a watchable mass masala for viewers who can enjoy Vijay style of movies..!!

വി കെ പ്രകാശിന്റെ ആദ്യ കോമഡി സംരംഭം ആയ 'ഗുലുമാല്‍' അതിലെ മുഖ്യ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളുടെ പ്രകടനമികവ് കൊണ്ടും വേഗം കൊണ്ടും ആസ്വദിച്ചു കണ്ടിരിക്കാവുന്ന സ്ലാപ്‌സ്ടിക് ചിത്രമാണ്. രണ്ടു യുവാക്കള്‍ ജീവിക്കാനായി കാട്ടി കൂട്ടുന്ന തട്ടിപ്പുകള്‍ നര്‍മത്തില്‍ ചാലിച്ച് അവതരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ് പ്രകാശ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ. കുറെ ഏറെ രംഗങ്ങള്‍ ആവശ്യമില്ലാതെ തമാശക്കായി തിരുകി കയറ്റിയത് ആസ്വാദനത്തില്‍ കല്ലുകടി ആകുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ മൊത്തത്തില്‍ ചിത്രം കണ്ടിരിക്കാനും യുക്തി ഒന്നും നോക്കാതെ ഇടക്കെങ്കിലും പൊട്ടി ചിരിക്കാനും അവസരം ഒരുക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നതാണ് ആശ്വാസകരമായ കാര്യം.
കള്ള കേസില്‍ പെട്ട് ജയിലില്‍ കഴിയുന്ന അച്ഛനെ (നെടുമുടി വേണു) രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ എന്തു വഴിയും പയറ്റി നോക്കാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങിത്തിരിച്ച യുവാവാണ് രവി വര്‍മ (കുഞ്ചാക്കോ). ഇയാള്‍ തട്ടിപ്പില്‍ പ്രാവീണ്യം നേടിയ ജെറി (ജയസുര്യ) യുമായി കൂട്ട് കൂടി നാട്ടുകാരെ പറ്റിക്കല്‍ ആരഭിക്കുന്നതോടെയാണ് കഥ തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. ചില്ലറ തട്ടിപ്പുകള്‍ നടത്തി വരവേ അവരുടെ മുന്നില്‍ ഒരു വമ്പന്‍ പദ്ധതി വരുന്നു..ആ പദ്ധതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു വന്‍ പ്രവാസി ബിസിനസ്സുകാരനെ പറ്റിച്ചു വന്‍ തുക ഒപ്പിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിത പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പരിഹാരമുണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങുന്നതോടെ കഥ സങ്കീര്‍ണം ആകുന്നു . ഇതിനിടെ ഒട്ടേറെ വഴിത്തിരിവുകള്‍ കഥയില്‍ വരുന്നു..ഒടുവില്‍ ഒരു വന്‍ വഴിത്തിരിവില്‍ കഥ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു..പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ച പോലെ ശുഭ പര്യവസായി ആയി..!!

തട്ടിപ്പുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് തട്ടിപ്പുകളിലെക്കുള്ള രവിയുടെയും ജെറിയുടെയും നെട്ടോട്ടം, ഇടയ്ക്കു പരസ്പരം ചില പാരകള്‍.. രംഗം കൊഴുപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഇവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ മണ്ടനായ ഒരു പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍ ശംഭുവും (സുരാജ്) കോണ്‍സ്ടബിലും (ബിജുകുട്ടന്‍). ഇതാണ് ചിത്രത്തിനെ മുന്നോട്ടു നയിക്കുന്ന ഘടകങ്ങള്‍. തട്ടിപ്പുകളും പോലീസിന്റെ വിക്രിയകളും ബാലരമ നിലവാരം ആണെങ്കിലും രംഗങ്ങളുടെ ചടുലത കാരണം അത്ര മുഷിപ്പിക്കില്ല. സുരാജ് ബിജുക്കുട്ടന്‍ ടീമിന്റെ പല രംഗങ്ങളും തമാശക്ക് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള തമാശ എന്ന് തന്നെ അനുഭവപെടും..എന്നാല്‍ ചിലവ സൂപ്പര്‍ ആയി കാണികള്‍ ആസ്വദിക്കും. ഗാനങ്ങളില്‍ ഗുലുമാല്‍, തരികിട എന്നിവ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ കഥാ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിനു ചേരുന്നുണ്ട്. മറ്റു രണ്ടു ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ സുഖം തോന്നില്ല.

കുഞ്ചാക്കോ ബോബന്‍ മോശമാക്കിയില്ല. പാവത്തിന് ആശ്വാസത്തോടെ ഒരു തിരിച്ചു വരവിനു ഈ സിനിമ വഴിവെക്കും എന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം. ജയസൂര്യ പതിവ് പോലെ തട്ടിപ്പ് വേഷത്തില്‍ നന്നായി കസറി. (നെഗടീവ് ടെച് ഉള്ള വേഷത്തില്‍ ജയസൂര്യ ഇതാദ്യമല്ലല്ലോ) നായിക സൈറ (മിത്ര) ക്ക് കാര്യമായി അഭിനയിക്കാന്‍ ഒന്നുമില്ല.

പൊതുവേ വി കെ പി ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ദൃശ്യ ഭംഗി കൂടുതല്‍ ആയിരിക്കും..ഇതിനു അത്ര ഭംഗി തോന്നിയില്ല...(ലളിതമായി എച് ഡി ക്യാമറയില്‍ എടുത്തത് കൊണ്ടാകണം.)

മൊത്തത്തില്‍ വെറുതെ വേറൊന്നും ചിന്തിക്കാതെ കണ്ടിരിക്കാവുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് ഗുലുമാല്‍. ഇതേ രംഗങ്ങള്‍ തന്നെ കൂടുതല്‍ നന്നായി എടുക്കാമായിരുന്നു എന്നും കാണുമ്പോള്‍ തോന്നി പോകും. പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ വെറുക്കാതെ തീയറ്ററില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി പോകുന്നു എന്നുള്ളത് കൊണ്ട് ഈ ആവറേജ് ചിത്രം ഹിറ്റ് ആകുമെന്ന് തന്നെ കരുതാം.

നിറമുള്ള താമരക്കു എന്താണ് ഗുണം?

എം ടി വാസുദേവന്‍ നായരുടെ തിരക്കഥയില്‍ ലാല്‍ ജോസ ് ഒരുക്കിയ നീലത്താമര പഴയമയിലെക്കുള്ള ഒരു തിരിച്ചു പോക്കാണ്. ആദ്യ നീലത്താമര 1979 ല്‍ വിരിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ ഉള്ളതിനേക്കാള്‍ ദൃശ്യ, സംഗീത രംഗങ്ങളില്‍ നിറം കൂട്ടി എന്നതിനേക്കാള്‍ ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ റീമേക്ക് പുതു തലമുറയോടെ എന്താണ് സംവദിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കാന്‍ അണിയറ ശില്പിക്കള്‍ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നതാണ് പോരായ്മ.
ഒരു വലിയ വീട്ടില്‍ ജോലിക്ക് ചെല്ലുന്ന പാവപ്പെട്ട പെണ്‍കുട്ടി. അവളോട് ആ വീട്ടിലെ ഇളമുറക്കാരന് തോന്നുന്ന കൗതുകം. അത് അനുരാഗം എന്ന് തെറ്റിധരിച്ചു അവളെ തന്നെ അയാള്‍ക്ക് സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഒടുവില്‍ സൗകര്യപൂര്‍വ്വം അയാള്‍ തന്റെ നിലക്കൊത്ത മുറപ്പെണ്ണിനെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നു. എല്ലായിടത്തെയും പോലെ അവള്‍ക്കു തന്റെ മുറ ചെറുക്കന്റെ ഭാര്യ ആയി മടങ്ങേണ്ടി വരുന്നു...
ഈ രണ്ടു സ്ത്രീ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളും 30 വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം അതെ തറവാട്ടില്‍ വീണ്ടും കണ്ടു മുട്ടുന്നതും പഴയ കാലത്തെ ഓര്‍മകളിലേക്ക് തിരികെ പോകുന്നതും ആണ് ലാല്‍ ജോസിന്റെ നീലതമാരയില്‍ പുതുതായി കാലത്തിനൊത്ത് വരുത്തിയ മാറ്റം.
ഈ നേരിയ കഥാ തന്തു അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും നീലത്താമരയില്‍ ഇല്ല. എന്നാല്‍ ലാളിത്യമാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭംഗി, ഒപ്പം ആദ്യ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്ന ഗാന രംഗങ്ങളും ..പുതുമുഖങ്ങള്‍ പഴയ കാല വേഷങ്ങളില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധേയ പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെച്ചതും പ്രേക്ഷകരെ പുതിയ ചിത്രത്തിലേക്ക് ആകര്‍ഷിക്കാന്‍ സഹായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. എം ടി യുടെ രചന എന്ന നിലയില്‍ നോക്കിയാല്‍ ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ മോശം പറയാന്‍ ഒന്നും ഇല്ല. എന്നാല്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഭ വിലയിരുത്താന്‍ മാത്രമുള്ള ഒന്നും ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഇല്ല. ലാല്‌ജോസിന്റെതായി ചിത്രത്തില്‍ പറയാനുള്ളത് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ദൃശ്യ ഭംഗിയും, ഗാന ചിത്രീകരണവും ആണ്. വിജയ് ഉലകനാഥന്റെ ചായാഗ്രഹണം നന്നായിരുന്നു.
വിദ്യാസാഗര്‍ ഒരുക്കിയ സംഗീതം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ തന്നെ ഗാനങ്ങളുടെ ഈനഗലെ ഓര്‍മിപ്പിക്കുമെങ്കിലും കേള്‍ക്കാന്‍ ഇമ്പം ഉണ്ട്. അനുരാഗ വിലോചനനായി, നീലതാമരെ എന്നിവ മികവു പുലര്‍ത്തി.
പുതുമുഖ നായിക അര്‍ച്ചനാ കവിയുടെ കുഞ്ഞിമാളു ആയുള്ള പ്രകടനം പക്വത ഉള്ളതാണ്. നായകന്‍ കൈലാഷും മോശം ആക്കിയില്ല. ഷാരത്തെ അമ്മിണി ആയി റീമയും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടും. (പക്ഷെ മനസിലാകാത്ത ഒരു കാര്യം അമ്മിണി എന്തിനു മരിച്ചു എന്നാണ്!!)
ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ പുതിയ നീലതാമരക്ക് നിറമുണ്ട്, മണമുണ്ട്...എന്നാല്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ വിരിഞ്ഞത് കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഗുണം മാത്രം എന്തെന്ന് മനസിലായില്ല...!!

Aadhavan starring Surya, directed by KS Ravikumar, has nothing new to say. It has a story which we have heard a thousand times in tamil, telugu and hindi mass masala entertainers.

Yes, its about a professional killer who finds his way into the house of judge (Murali) and waiting for an oppurtunity to eliminate him. As usual the hero becomes protector at the end and fights against the baddies.

This mass masala formula film has a decent mix of comedy, action, style, songs and sentiments, but i think they are not in desired proportions. And that makes the film stale. The script is racy, takings are good but there is something missing.

Surya steals the show with his energetic performance and getups. It was a surprise for me to see him even in 10 year old get up. Nayantara looks okay in the film with her controlled glamour show. Vadivelu also got many scenes to score. Eventhough it was a cakewalk for him, Murali got a role with comparatively good screen space. SarojaDevi, Rahul Dev, Sayaji Shinde etc were also good in their roles.

Songs are picturised beautifully. Music by Harris Jayaraj reminds his old works. Vaaraya is good to hear and Hazzile fizzle is worthwatch.

The film is good in some parts, moving through an expectable storyline, but the climax was an overdose. Dont know why Ravikumar killed his own work with that type of climax. Maybe, he wants to build tension during that situations. Anyway, that was horrible.

Surya should become more selective as this film is no way different or better than his recent film Ayan. As a good actor who doesnt hesitates to take risks, Surya should think about projects which can offer something novel.
Anyway, Aadhavan is an one time watchable movie for a tamil mass masala lover!

Most awaited big budget movie movie,BLUE, which showcases the novelty of underwater beauty and action sequences is no way near the expectations.
The film only follows usual bollywood storyline and execution is also below average. Camera, music and sound are the areas which give relief to the audience from boredom.

storyline:
The story takes place in picturesque locations of Bahamas. Sagar, a sea diver (sanjay dutt) and Aarav (akshay) are friends and Mona (lara dutta) lover of Sagar.
Story takes a turn when Sam (zayed khan) flees from Bangok and reaches Bahamas to avail help from his elder brother Sagar. Then villian Gulshan (Rahul Dev) follows sam there too.
At last Sagar and Aarav decides to search the hidden treasure, which was left abandoned in the sea after a ship wrek in 1949, to help/save sam.

Presentation:
The film starts with title cards showing the beauty and marine life inside the sea, which was amazing. The story moves in a slow pace and the viewers never feel any tension or punch during the story development. Songs placed here and there in the movie are good to hear and nice to watch, but all of them are totally unwanted in the story.
Next thing which is worth mentioning are action scenes. The bike chasing sequence in bahamas (through road and rail) is amazing and thrilling. Also underwater expeditions too are interesting.
We should thank the cinematographer Laxman Utekar and sound designer Pookkutty for capturing the under water beauty and sound marvelouslly.
Actingwise, nobody delivered performance which is worth mentioning. Akshay is boring as usual and Sanjay had nothing to do. Lara's underwater bikini scenes were watchable. Zayed khan was good compared to others. Katrina and Kylie Minogue were also there in film (special appearance).
Blue can't thrill you if you expect something high. Technical depatments are the areas where we can find some excellence and freshness.
So,try to get audio and video songs of movie and watch it. If u still want to see the film, wait until DVD's are out.

Verdict: Below average.

Wake up sid directed by ayan mukherjee is all about a young boy Sidharth mehra alias Sid, who has just completed his college days. As his father is a successfull businessman, he is blessed with all lucks and facilities which every boy of his age dreams. But these things only make him lazy, irresponsible and unmotivated. Things turn upside down when final exam results are out and Sid had to leave his home.
Then he moves to the flat of his friend Ayesha banerjee, aspiring writer, working with a magazine. (Eventhough both of them have contrasting characters, they are good friends) Sid's life and lifestyles take a deviation during life with ayesha and slowly he matures as a man...
The story is nothing new, but the narration doesnt feel stale. Ranbir as Sid and Konkana as Ayesha were perfect choices and that make us watch the film without boredom. Ranbir is excellent as disordered guy and Konkana is brilliant as matured girl. Anupam Kher also delivered a decent performance as Senior Mehra.
Music by Sankar Ehsaan Loy team is also good.
Thank god, the director was kind enough to avoid usual masala mix action and bikini songs, and i think that is a big plus in this film. Also the film has some touching moments which even reminds us about our parents and responsibilities.
For me, Wake up Sid is a well made, watchable, youthful movie which can attract youth to theatres.

Winter, first film from director dipu karunakaran is a horror thriller in genre. the basic goal set by the director is achieved , bcoz the film succeeds in making audience tensed and thrilled till the last scene.

story:
Dr. Ram (jayram) is a specialist surgeon working in hyderabad. he with his wife syama (bhavana) and 2 daughters shifts to a new house, in the outskirts of city. there was some rumours that the house has some problems (related to ghost??). at first jayram doesnt believes in such things, but slowly the family experiences many problems each and every day....
what will happen at last...?? will they overcome the problems?

direction and script:
these areas can be considered best in this film. story cant be considered as a novel one, but the director proved that he can keep the viewers in the edge of seat till the end. the script is tight, that no scene feels odd. But dialogues in some part felt dramatic.

camera and BGM:
the camera angles and BGM assisted the script a lot to maintain the mood and pace of the film.

song:
not upto the mark.

acting:
all were excellent. jayram, manoj k jayan, vijayakumar, t g ravi etc did their part well. bhavana was also gud, but she doesnt luk like a mother of two.

climax/suspense:
till climax the film was marvelous. but the climax shud hav more punch (strictly my opinion).
(eventhough the presentation and approach r different, the film reminded me the telugu film 'mantra' in some portions.)

theatre response:
all were tensed and biting their nails.

Unnaipol oruvan (tamil)-film review

Unnaipol oruvan, which is basically an adaptation from hindi film 'A wednesday' is a pointer to present day social realities. The film speaks about terrorism, its effect on locals and the difficulties in tackling it.

The story begins when commisioner Raghava maaraar (mohanlal) recieves an anonymous call claming that explosives are installed in five major places in Chennai city. The caller (kamalhasan) shows his strenght by placing a bomb inside a major police station in the city. He demands the release of four terrorists before de activating the bombs. Then the game is on and Maaraar and his team with permission of chief minister and chief secretary (lakshmi) starts the action to trap the caller. But he has to surrender before the terror caller and was forced to release the terrorists. Then comes the real twist and during that time only viewers are able to identify the real objectives of the terror caller.

Direction by Chakri toleti was not bad. But other than handling the shoot, i think he had nothing to do more because it is a remake. Performace of Mohanlal and Kamalhasan needs special mention, because in my view, they have done their job far better than those who handled these characters in original version. Both were strong and cool as their characters. Eventhough these characters meet only during the climax, we could feel the combined effect of these men from beginning to end. Lakshmi as Chief secretary also did a great job. Maraar's trusted officers Arif and Sethu were perfect. But Poonam kaur (as Sethu's wife) was wasted. Background music was also decent.

As a thriller, this does not offer any fight scenes, punch dialogues or super hero performance from heroes. But it is just a pointer, an eye opener, which expresses the feeling of a common man (like you) about terrorism and its effects on our system.

theatre response: There were claps from the crowd when Mohanlal and Kamalhasan were introduced. Also i could hear some giggles when that IIT dropout fellow was shown.

wanted-hindi film review

'Wanted' ,directed by Prabhudeva, is remake of 'pokkiri', which was block buster in telugu and tamil. As a remake, 'Wanted' has nothing new to offer, just recreation of scenes from the original.
The story deals with Mumbai underworld. Radhe (salman khan) is a goon , who cares nothing , but will do any thing for money. He finds his place in don Gani bhai's gang and devastates almost everyone in opposite gangs...!!!
But during these actions, Gani bhai's close aid also gets killed and he comes from his foriegn hideout to mumbai...the story takes a turn when bhai gets arrested ...
There is also a love track of hero with Jhanvi (Ayesha takia), a middle class call centre employee..(dont know whether i can call it a love track..but the word heroine track will be apt). Radhe comes as savior for Jhanvi in many occasion and she starts loving him. He too have a soft corner for her.
There are five colourful songs in the movie. 'Ishq vishque' song which is frequently aired in channels is not in the movie. 'Love me love me' is hummable and 'Dil leke' is beautiful.
Performance wise Salman is apt man for that character. After a long time he is back as a rebel hero. But comparing with heros of telugu and tamil versions, Salman is behind Mahesh babu in action scenes.
Ayesha takia has got good screen space and she looks gorgeous. But i dont think there is anything to mention about her acting skills. Asin in tamil and Ileana in telugu were far better in performance. Prakash Raj is cool in his villian role (as he did in telugu and tamil). Mahesh manjaraker's was also good in his inspector role.
Directing this film was an eazy task for Prabhudeva, bcoz he has to do nothing new for this version. Music by sajid-vajid, action by vijayan were above average. Eventhough the story has many loopholes , the tight script covers that all. And that makes this film a watchable action packed entertainer.
Sallu fans will really like this movie because he is back with unwavering hardcore action and foot tapping steps.
Even if you have seen the telugu or tamil version, can watch this one without getting bored.

Kanthasami is about mysterious super character-kanthasami, who steals black money from biggies and pass it to poor. The same old story, which has become subject for tamil films from the time of shanker's gentleman has again arrived in the new (?) bottle.!! If the director had put some more effort to get a good script, the film would have become more interesting.

story:
Chiyan Vikram appears as Kanthasami IPS, who is a senior officer in CBI economics offence section. He is the same super character Kanthasami, who is a mystery to others. As said in the introduction, his 'extra curricular activity' is to take wealth from biggies and distribute it among needy people without revealing who he is. Common people believes that the lord Muruka (kanthasami) himself is coming as their savior! But police team led by Prabhu is sure that this character is not a 'saami' but an 'asaami' and they are behind him...
Heroine of this story Subbalakshmi (shreya) is the daughter of business tycoon PPP (ashish vidhyarthi), who becomes a victim of Kanthasami. Can these people trap Kanthasaami or how he tackles these obstuctions in his path..the film is answer to these questions...

technical departments:
While selecting a path of beaten tracks, director Susi Ganeshan should have made sure that he could execute his duty neatly. There should be something new in the narration at least. In my opinion, he has failed miserably in co ordinating other technicians and resources and that resulted in this rubbish output. Script and direction parts can be pointed out as main negatives in this film.
Everybody in acting side did their role neatly. Chiyaan was handsome and tough as Kanthasaami. He was good in kokkarakko get up too..But i think lady get up was unwanted. Sreya was cool in her performance but waste in her looks. Her new hairstyle was something which made her ugly in looks. I think she was cute and seductive in films like sivaji, azhakiya tamil makan etc. Prabhu, Ashish vidhyarthi, Rajmohan etc were decent in their roles.
Comedy track from Vadivelu was boring.
Camera, costumes and editing was ok. But action sequences didnt thrilled the viewers. We cant point out a single stunt scene which was above average.
Music was average, but it is already in hitcharts. Compared with films like Sivaji and Annyan, song picturisation was not at all attractive.

review:
As a much hyped mass masala mega budget thriller Kanthasaami fails to appeal its audience. This will be just a feast for Chiyaan lovers. No other factors can be found novel in the story or execution part of this film. It is time film makers think of some fresh ideas while dealing with subjects like black money, corruption etc...
So, Mr.Susy you should understand that it is not so eazy to make a mega entertainer without having any creative sense.

theatre experience:
The film was screening in both anjali and athulya theatres and the compound and floors were jam packed. It took more than ten minutes for me to reach the ground floor from fourth floor after the show.
Color correction, brightness, contrast adjustments in digital projector was not upto the mark so that the viewing experience was also bad.
